FINAWAX ERUCAMIDE
DESCRIPTION: Unsaturated primary amide (Erucamide)

APPLICATIONS & PROPERTIES:
Finawax erucamide is an excellent release agent for all polyolefins used in rotational and injection moulding e.g. PP syringes, furniture compounds, automobile compounds and other polyolefin compounds.
- Improves mould release, thereby reducing/ eliminating the use of mould release spray
- Allows the use of lower clamp and ejection pin pressure
-Lower rejection rates caused by deformation and pin marks
-Improves melt flow characteristics and reduce cycle time
- Confers a degree of lubricity, possibly reducing screw wear
-Improves the final “feel” of the moulded article and the scratch resistance
METHOD OF USE:
A pre-mixing step is recommended during the processing, in order to achieve maximized effectiveness of FINAWAX E. A simple manual mixing prior to the processing gives an acceptable dispersion, although mechanical mixing is highly preferable. However, using a small quantity of liquid wetting agents like FINALUX G3/FINALUX G 101 is beneficial. The optimum dosage level depends upon the polymer type, the complexity of the moulding and the size of the moulding.
USE LEVEL: 0.3-0.5 % on total compound weight
OTHER APPLICATIONS:
In vinyl plastisol to create slip effect in sealing gasket compounds, which are used forcontainer caps of the crown cork and screw type caps.
In rubber industry, used as a mould release and slip agent in the manufacture of rubber products
In printing inks for paper &t polyolefins,FINAWAX E improves slip and antiblocking properties, enhances spreading properties, promotes adhesion to the printed surface &t protects ink from scratching and rub-off
In PVC films/ profiles, imparts slip properties &t smooth / dry feel/ texture
Finawax Erucamide is recommended to use in the PVC cable applications to provide slip and water barrier properties.
It is known for its controlled surface migration property. Surface migration helps in forming a very thin additive layer on the surface resulting into offering slip properties and preventing the ingress of water pick up.
PVC wires specially heat resistance coming into contact with water, may affect the electrical resistance.
Finawax Erucamide has high thermal stability and excellent water barrier properties, is quite suitable for PVC wire insulation compound, specifically for wet electrical properties. Apart from working as a water barrier in cable insulation, it will also help in thin wire insulation, which is processed on fast speed machines.FINAWAX E enables smooth surface finish to cables.
The recommended dosage level is between 0.25-0.75phr.
